Advising Leaders on Strategy, Risk, and the Global Shifts Reshaping our World
About Auffant Global Advisory
Auffant Global Advisory was founded by Dr. Marino Auffant, an international historian and strategist whose career spans corporate strategy, public policy, and academic research. He brings a rare blend of analytical depth, institutional fluency, and practical execution to clients navigating global disruption.
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, and educated in the United States and France, Marino has lived and worked across the globe—from Istanbul and Seoul to Washington, Paris, and Santo Domingo. This lived internationalism informs his ability to bridge the gaps between local complexity and global systems.
He holds a PhD in International History from Harvard University and trained at France’s École nationale d’administration (ENA). His research—on energy, finance, and global order—earned him the John McCain Dissertation Award from the Munich Security Conference.
Marino currently serves as a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. He has previously held fellowships at institutions including the SAIS Kissinger Center, Harvard’s Belfer Center, the Clements Center, and the Notre Dame International Security Center.
Fluent in more than eight languages—including Spanish, French, Russian, Hebrew, Turkish, and Persian—Marino brings cultural fluency to match his geopolitical range.
Over the past decade, he has worked across sectors and continents—supporting clients in navigating complexity at the highest levels. He has:
Led projects for governments and multilateral institutions on energy markets, industrial strategy, and regional security
Consulted on geoeconomic strategy, political due diligence, and market-entry intelligence for private firms and investors
Developed national strategies on semiconductor nearshoring, advised on emerging trade architecture, and contributed to U.S. defense net assessments on great power competition and global realignment
Today, Marino leads Auffant Global as a boutique advisory firm delivering clear-eyed strategy for a world in transition. Whether advising governments, institutions, or the private sector, the firm connects geopolitical insight to practical outcomes—helping clients move from complexity to clarity, from risk to strategy.
